Week of May 25, 2026
Here’s a rundown of my week.
The Boroughs
“The Boroughs” on Netflix stars Geena Davis as a hot 70-year-old gal who lives in a retirement community plagued by monsters. Or aliens. I don’t know which as it’s never really specified. Geena and her fellow retirees come together to drink, vape marijuana, fornicate, and eventually fight the monster / aliens. The series is a throwback / homage to 1980’s cinema and the works of Steven Spielberg. It’s a lot of fun, has some great Easter Eggs, and is highly bingeable. I suggest you grab a cooler full of beer and get to watching.
Piney Woods

Piney Woods is an homage to and update of the classic drive-in ScareFests of the 1970s and 1980s. This tight movie designed for streaming features the three Bs of “Breasts, Blood, and Beasts” and is supported by a great story full of memorable characters, roller coaster action, humor, and romance (ok, lust). It is designed to be shot with very limited locations, quick and dirty, and on the cheap.
Eye Exam
For those of you keeping track.

I went to the eye doctor on Wednesday and my eyes have not changed in two years.
I guess that’s good.
