Here’s a rundown of my week.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

The Fantastic Four: First Steps stars Vanessa Kirby (pictured above) and that gal who played Ruth on Ozark. The latter is pretty much naked throughout the movie. Not totally naked as she wears silver paint. She also has a surfboard. She rides this surfboard to Earth to tell folks they’re doomed. The message is made easier by the fact that she’s completely nude except for the silver paint and looks damn good that way. The Fantastic Four come up with a few plans to save Earth that all fail but then defeat the bad guy with the help of the naked silver gal.

The movie is stupid fun and also features a guy made of orange rocks and a guy who’s on fire.

I give it an A-.

I turn to see Randy, unshaven and unkempt, sitting on the ground between two sage bushes. He's holding a crumpled paper bag.

“Want some of this?” Randy asks.

He pulls a can of oven cleaner from the bag, shakes it, and sprays it into the bag. He closes the bag around his mouth and nose then breathes deeply. The bag inflates and deflates in quick succession.

“God damn, man,” I exclaim. “You’re huffing oven cleaner?”

Randy puts the can back in the bag and the bag in his lap.

“Not by itself. No,” Randy replies. “Using it as a chaser. I took some ayahuasca this morning.”

“Jesus man!” I respond in shock. “What does that combination do?”

Randy closes his eyes and holds stoic.

“Wonderful things,” he whispers. “Wonderful things.”
