Week of May 4, 2026

Here’s a rundown of my week.

Emmaline

Cheers!

Was fortunate enough to see the very beautiful and oh so talented Emmaline last night at Jazz, TX in San Antonio.

A fantastic show, a superb venue, and a great time.

Remember to support Independent Artists whether they be singers, writers, performers, sculptors, or painters.

The arts is who we are, who we want to be, and what makes us each unique.

Rich O’Toole

Speaking of supporting independent Artists…

Bought Rich’s latest,

A great song from one hell of a singer songwriter.

The Courtship of Eddie’s Family

“Eddie, why you no read the Acuña Cartel books?”

“Gee Mrs. Livingston, each book is rated R for language, crude humor, and insanely bizarre circumstances.”

“Grow up you little wuss!”

This interaction between Eddie and Mrs. Livingston was set to appear on the last episode of season 2 of The Courtship of Eddie’s Father but was cut for time, offensive language, and harmful stereotypes.

Get all three books on Amazon today!

Don’t watch The Courtship of Eddie’s Father. It doesn’t hold up.

Greg Stones

This is “Rabbit Briefly Enjoying Ice Cream” by Greg Stones.

DeBarge at HEB

HEB was playing “Rhythm of the Night” by DeBarge this morning when I stopped in to get an envelope.
It made shopping fun.
I thought everyone should know.
That is all.

Running for Your Life on the Streets of Hell

Check out my latest for Field Ethos Journal.

Witte Museum

I hadn’t been to the Witte Museum in San Antonio since they remodeled back in 2017. It’s an outstanding facility and showcases the best of Texas. I recommend you check it out.

Or not.

I mean I have no dog in this fight.

I don’t get a kickback or anything if you go.

I’m just conveying that I really liked it.

Bird

Apparently this is a Black-chested Buzzard-Eagle (Geranoaetus melanoleucus).

I took this pic when I was dove hunting Argentina years ago.

Baboons

Baboon skulls. Not mine. But cool all the same.

Email Gayne!

I love hearing from people who read my work and I answer every email I get. You can do that by clicking that little image of an envelope below.

Like what you see? Want to keep the adventure going? Fire a PayPal or Venmo in my direction & you may get a shout out! Hot Tip: Include blog idea in the description…

Gayne C. Young

If you mixed Ernest Hemingway, Robert Ruark, Hunter S. Thompson, and four shots of tequila in a blender, a "Gayne Young" is what you'd call the drink!
