Week of June 22, 2026
Here’s a rundown of my week.
Another Mile
I swam another mile.
This third one this week was far harder than the rest and I don’t think I would have made it had Jennifer Lawrence not appeared there at the end to cheer me on. She even brought me a cold beer.
It’s good to have friends.
Disclosure Day
Disclosure Day stars Emily Blunt as a weather gal who has alien powers and is driven to tell the world that aliens are real.
Maybe.
It was a pretty deep movie and I’m not sure what it all meant.
The movie also stars a bunch of British people pretending to be American, Kurt Russel’s kid, and that really cool black guy from The Four Seasons. The latter is in charge of the alien truth coming out.
I think.
Again, the movie was pretty deep and I’m not sure it was actually about aliens.
Maybe it was about not being scared of things you don’t understand or believing that hot weather gals have something more to offer than their looks. Also, some folks could turn invisible and there was a magical fox, cardinal, and deer thrown into the mix. Richard Nixon shows up as well. Overall, I give Disclosure Day a solid B.
The AMC Boerne 11 where I saw it however gets a D. They didn’t carry Dr Pepper products, were chinchy with their popcorn salt, and showed 34 minutes of ads and trailers prior to the movie.
Gayne says grab a 12 pack and give the movie a go.

I don’t like the girl with mud in her toes
And feet that smell like anything goes
