Week of June 15, 2026
Here’s a rundown of my week.
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
I watched E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial this week before going to see Disclosure Day.
E.T. holds up but if far goofier than I recall.
I mean, when E.T. goes home, his spaceship literally craps a rainbow.
And I hated the flying bike parts.
Even as a kid.
Re-watching it this week I found it interesting that both female child leads (Drew Barrymore - above m- and Erika Eleniak) went on to pose in Playboy.
Star Henry Thomas did not.
My favorite part was when E.T. lie in a ditch dying while a raccoon licked his still warm body.
Ha.
Take that you dumb alien.
Mile Swim
I swam another mile.
This makes my third in two weeks.
I used to swim that distance in about 20 minutes.
Now, it takes me 42 minutes.
I suck.
Or, I’m getting old.
Maybe both.
At least I’m out there trying.

HEB Nighttime Otters
Took a mega dose of HEB Nighttime last night in an attempt to kill these Texas Hill Country allergies and the next thing I know I’m watching otters fight in gladiatorial combat. Crazy candy-colored acid-trip dreams of violence, tension, and twists of fate. I might have to take this stuff every night!
Bowzer
I remember sitting in the lunchroom a really long time ago when this kid was boasting about Bowzer was the best and Sha Na Na was the best and on and on until this other kid got up and beat that first kid’s butt.
Just wailed on him.
Good times.
